Nosferatu V2 : Calling All Monsters
Happy Halloween, you lovely misfit weirdos! I love sharing new Nosferatu pieces and I’ve been working on a fun one for this spooky holiday. Earlier this year I storyboarded Nosferatu at a dance club surrounded by other monsters—and inevitably gets trampled on:
One of my favorite jokes is how things always go wrong for Nosfy. My title A Lifetime of Horror is a twist on A Symphony of Horror to demonstrate this. Lately, though, I’ve also been exploring the idea of misfits finding each other—because so much of our strength comes from the camaraderie of our fellow weirdos.
This year I’ve been (extra) drawn to misfits and outcasts, but with a focus on their resilience in defying the norm. As someone who painfully never fit in, it took me a long time to understand the great strength of being different—it will transform like magic once you finally see it, going from pain to gold.
Nosferatu Goes to the Club
Animation takes so much time, and since the art was coming out pretty good, I decided not to rush the new short and share the process with you instead. Substack will only allow 9 images per gallery, so I had to split it up for the sake of this post:

Since “Nosferatu Goes to the Club” is still a work in progress, I thought it would be fun to ask for help picking monsters you would like to see at this “Club Haunted House.” Comment below with a monster you would like to see, and if they end up in the animation I will tag/credit you when it’s posted. Despite him being a loner, I wanted Nosferatu to meet some female vampires to open up his world a bit more. I have a longer piece in mind “Nosferatu Needs a Roommate” that may end up being something I submit to film fests in the future. I have it storyboarded and there’s a joke in there that makes me laugh every time I think of it—I’m dying to share. More on that to come!
